I am Rawad Abou Zaky. I am from Lebanon. I am forever inspired by the Lebanese iconic Cedar tree. Its leaves, as sharp, stiff and short shoots as they are, coalesce to give the branch a flat and dramatic look and an ability to withstand harsh climates yet staying evergreen.
Having to spend hours in traffic, I found myself looking at car designs, trying to compare what they have in common.

I was amazed by the progress in design over time. I wanted to be able to innovate a car that integrates the art of designs of the past two decades, with the mass need for convenience. Some people had or have to spend hours driving overnight. The least they need is a comfortable break before hitting the road again.

So this car concept I am presenting, combines the dramatic sharp lines of the 1990′s with the modern trend of this time and age. Technically, it features a new concept of elongating from the rear end and the interior, fitting three people in the back seats, horizontally, or providing enough space vertically for a person to lay down. By this, it can transform from being a sports car to a family car, and/or a mini-caravan.

Taken into account the safety of this design, making it sustainable and solid in all those three models, the previously mentioned features make it an attraction for both young and old people around the globe, be it convenient, compact, solid, and efficient. n.b..Galloi is the name of a Phoenician ship and means horses.

We use public space with stranger frequently. Also when use the elevator, we feel awkward with stranger. in a brief space of time, when use the elevator we are anxious about who take in elevator or wait for elevator.
It makes a chance that Taking and wating people in elevator communicate by offering of information.

design concept
It is changed with To add Channel of the new sense, Is being shut and divided space Is being opened and continuative passage. By that communicate the users of the elevator.

design value
With information transmission from the elevator, the user can have a new experience that communicates inside and outside each other.
there is a possibility!

Hyderabad, a very famous city of my country INDIA is in a constant lookout for an innovative car design which would meet the needs of its not so great roads and which would contribute its best for environmental conservation. My car design ‘CURCAS’ is the perfect solution.

CURCAS as an engine which runs on bio-diesel, a fuel whose usage in India is fast growing and which plays an effective role in environmental conservation and also decreases the excessive usage of fast exhausting fuels by replacing them. The engine is connected to a generator that powers the four wheel hub motors( a diesel Hybrid). The mileage is preferably high. Curcas can be seen as a mid-size urban SUV with great road grip which is an asset for not so furnished roads.

The uncovered rear gives a robust look to the vehicle which makes it everybody’s fantasy and can be seen as a global innovation.

Haiti hidden beauty.
Haiti, a name that means “mountainous country” special for its amazing country side and its beaches that are beyond the meaning of beautiful. From the black-sand beaches near Jacmel to the innumerable lovely palm-lined beaches near the capital. Like you already know there is no such place like home. Haiti is my paradise, the only place where I can call home. Since childhood, I always have been an energetic person and constantly moving around I could not stay still, and I always was breaking and building things. I have been inspired by different interest, especially by those hard workers, that are honored and granted for their productiveness. Everyone has their own motivation, mine is materials that cannot be recyclable.

The title of my presentation is “My country: how could we contribute to a global innovation? ” The globalized and knowledge economy is increasingly based on using knowledge and innovation. Has you know Haiti is a third world country where most of the population is illiterate, has no support and are not honored for their hard work. Haiti do not have recycling company therefore we always have to buy materials from other countries. After a lot of observation I have decided to be productive and to use unrecyclable materials. My passion and motivation is to use plastic residue, stuffs that cannot be recycled like plastic waste and make decoration furniture, such as lamps, house accessories and so on. Most people do not understand the importance of value creation by incorporating knowledge and innovation into their products and services. And I am ready to take this challenge.

Good day! Reading will take only a few minutes. Are you ready? Let’s read a brochure!

Russian people are very hospitable – we would rather invite friend home for the cup of tea than go together to the café. It starts with old Russian tradition to bring friends & relatives together \”to have a sit by samovar\”, which means to have a talk while drinking tea from samovar. In our country samovar is a symbol of home-fire and coziness.

Traditionally it has a difficult structure and composed of a body, base, chimney, cover, faucet, valve, and teapot and so on… But nowadays there are such a lot of new technologies that the process of boiling in old conservative samovar seems to be too catchy. At the same time up to date we enjoy to gather big clique at home– as a consequence we often forced to boil a little 1,5-liter kettle several time!

The solution to this problem exists! Let’s take a samovar, robe it in a modern design and add high-tech innovation to it! As a result we receive clever machine, which has 4-liter boiling part and 1-liter teapot. Our new samovar can safe the desired temperature because of its thermostat function. In this case we spent more than 2 times less energy than usual. This samovar is decorated with white ceramics on its outside and also it has steel useful support – we can keep a set of cups & saucers here. Blue line around the perimeter of the samovar signals about his work, and touch-sensitive buttons have the same color, so it doesn’t violate the integrity of the design.

Clean lines create a form similar to a diamond, which in this case symbolizes the precious Russian tradition of hospitality. That is why I called it Russian Diamond.

Do you like it? Let’s enjoy socializing in company with a hi-tech!

Hi! I live in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. I love this city because of great combination of historical buildings with a fast growing pulse of the new generation city spirit. Kiev is an ancient city with strong historical background. And I think no one can achieve success in future not knowing your past. So our mission is to preserve and save the most we can for future generations.
Now all the citizens can see a great problem in Kiev.

The buildings, the facades of which might adorn the majority of European cities, giving way to modern buildings witch are often tasteless, are depriving Kiev’s face. Most of the architectural masterpieces are on the expensive land in the city center and has long been an attractive target for developers.

One of these houses is the house on the street of Zhytomyr 32, built in 1911-1912 by architect Ignatius Ledohovskiy. The architect, considered the father of Art Nouveau in Kiev. Prior to 1920 there was a tenement house, and in 2009 the building was sold to the entrepreneur and became even more destroyed. Now this house, as well as another 20 historic buildings in the city center threatened with demolition.

This problem inspire me to pick a title for my project under the theme “MY COUNTRY: how can we contribute to global innovation?” which is “Save the history for new achievements!”.
My Project is an interior design of one of the rooms in Ledohovskiy House.
I understand people’s desire for innovation, since it is natural to strive for the best. In my work I want to show how beneficial you can combine the beauty of the past and innovative design.
Hope you like it!

Colombia over the last years has been on the global spotlight. FIFA U-20 World Cup Host, an economical emerging power, a strong political nation, a very attractive destination for tourists and a financial asset for many international companies. Colombia is seen as one of the most dynamic, appealing and amazing countries in the Americas.

Bogota is the financial, economical and political heart of Colombia. It is also one of the international gates that connect the country with the world. Bogota at the beginning of the Millennium wanted to change its image along with the rest of the nation for the better; one of he first step the city took was establishing a massive bus-based transport system which has grown over the last years, an was adopted by other Colombian cities. The city began to invest on its modernisation; building and expansion of different financial districts, courting international companies to come and establish themselves in the country, and to companies whom where already in the country to expand and grown; national companies were encourage to go International. The result of the change were dramatic; Bogota was placed on the map as valuable asset for any company that operated in the Americas and especially an important location for South America. This change also brought about a change of mentality to the city and its residents began to be optimistic and realized that the city was now not only the capital of Colombia but and international player.

The concept car is inspired by this change; it is a small city car because Bogota is a very busy city and has a sporty design and features to quickly move around In this is dynamic environment. It’s lines are very aggressive to represent the audacity and rapid change that we have experienced; there is also an element of aerodynamics, though it might have a minimal effect on the car performance, this refers to the wind that bounces of the Andes and onto the third heights city in the world. Finally the car would be able to charge itself via Inductive charging this would be possible since Bogota is still undergoing a modernisation phase.

This concept represents an unprecedented change from a city that would rarely goods news in the past to a City and nation that makes the headlines as an Economical power, a South American leader and a global Player.

What most reminds me my country is its diversity. It is very difficult to think of something that is not only a regional symbol, because the abundance of productions it creates is its true national wealth.

I tried to get a look in some aspect that somehow works in all its extension, bringing benefits to many climates, cultures and different lifestyle: the sun. It manifests itself in different ways and intensities certainly, but still, a country known to be tropical, has a resource that should be more explorated.

So the main idea was to use solar energy as a resource to bring quality of life, using clean energy and bring our diversity to our eyes, with its endless colors and textures for the public areas of Brazil.

The design resembles a sum umbrella, much used in our beaches, the truth is that an urban furniture in the upper dark panel works to capture solar energy and store it. It´s shape (cone) also allows the lead to direct rainwater into the soil, minimizing storm water drainage problems that we face in some places.

So that the project works to protect people from direct sunlight during the day and rain, absorb rainwater and captures solar energy to work during the night and transform solar energy into light and create a safer environment.
The images chosen to give a dress to the project were to bring our eyes the beauty of diversity that we possess. In the pictures I pointed out the coffee, as a large production since the colonial times until today, the chita, which is a typical colorful fabric, the Brazilian palm trees, ipe which is the yellow flower, and the flakes of a fish endangered, called Pirarucu.

Anyway, thought to show the rich culture, natural resources and the Brazilian manifestation in prints to bring an artistic intervention in public space, perhaps even bringing pieces of the country so extensive, sometimes it is not known by itself.

I am from Brazil and this is a project that uses Brazilian old furniture to create a bathroom that combines cultural Brazilian aspects with functionality of contemporary life. This is a simple and cheap way to innovate valuing the items of the house of the past.

This project consists in an apartment bathroom renovation. This is an 50′s bathroom. The objective of the project was to preserve some characteristics of the original bathroom and transform it in a bathroom that attends the actual way of life of our time. The challenge of adapting this room to an contemporary use came up when the apartment’s owner asked to a project that could have the concept explained above but using his old furniture that He had at his farm house. At this way, He wanted that the project had something about Brazil.

Then comes a new concept of innovation. An innovation much more associate to sustainability. Instead of using new materials, why not innovate recycling and giving different uses to the furniture that we already have in our homes?

In this project an old wardrobe and an old work table were used with new purposes. The wardrobe became part of the linen of the house with the supplies for shower and bathroom. The old desk became the stand to the sink. The tile was not changed. And the bathroom acquired a charm that mixes the functionality of contemporary life, the old furniture with a new kind of appropriation and much more about Brazil with the old 50’s tiles.

That’s real innovation with low cost and sustainability!

Hello,

My name is Andrej Cirnyj.

My project describes how I see the possible turn in my country’s car industry.
Going throw the past of automobile industry in Russia we see a number of cars very simple and moderate in terms of styling.

Mainly function was forming the character of the car, doesn’t matter if it was a city car or a truck. And as I see, this is exactly what attracted then and attracts people now. Simplicity in shape, which is dictated by functional laws, makes the car look extremely interesting and unique. When Lada was born, Italian Fiat 124 started to be produced under the Lada brand with great success. Easy maintenance and laconic exterior perfectly met the expectations of people and conquered their love.

My goal was to create a car based on three key-words: simple, unique, and clean. Inspired by minimalistic shapes I was trying to base the idea not on simplicity of shape (what is also very important for me), but on simplicity of function, where every part of the car clearly shows its role. This is why whole middle part is visually separated from sides, that gives a feeling as if the cockpit was embraced by the dynamic surfaces, giving the whole vehicle a sense of speed and safety. I was trying to keep the shape clean from any unneeded curves and details – only what truly makes it better in my understanding, no more, no less.

The clean surfaces are also made to give a feeling of clean energy used by the vehicle. It is obligatory to rethink the principle of motive force nowadays. And as I think, my concept meets this requirements. The car is fully electric. The middle glass part has a layer of solar elements, which gives the vehicle big amount of energy and decreases amount of charging times extremely.

The whole idea was to make it as simple, clean-shaped and nature friendly as possible. And I hope that I managed to bring this seeing to you.

Thank You.

All my work and creativity are closely linked with my country and my perception of the events occurring around. For a long time, Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, being severely limited to the velopment of many industries, and closed to any influence from outside either. Deficiency of all kinds of products, including food, queues for consumer goods, the inability to acquire many of the necessary or desired products – all these are attributes of the era in which I was born, and whose consequences are still evident in the culture and peculiarities of the development of my country.

But anyway the attributes of this era have become constant symbols of childhood – the happy and joyful period. All children love sweets. A major candy in the country of my childhood were sweets homemade (self made sweets). In particular, lollipops. To this day, the most recognizable of them is a red sugar cockerel. For me, as for many children born in the Soviet Union – it is a symbol of happy memories of childhood, despite all the difficulties of challenging times. I wanted to create an object that would have carried a very positive happy emotions. Bright and full of warmth, devoid of anxiety and unrest. As in childhood.

I propose to transform things. Take the images associated with the memories important for us and transform them into objects that can be played in new ways, keeping the warmth of our feelings.

Historically, all Russian cities were build on rivers, and rivers were main transport and trade ways.
The means of transport developed in Russia were functioning on the boundaries of two environments: friendly and contrast. The example of such type of transportation is slavian boat, which could go by water under the sails, and by land by portaging it.

The same transportation type of two environments were ships with underwater wings and ekranoplans, designed under R. Alekseev. They used to go by their traditional water ways, but with capability to enter the contrast environment – air. The physical contact with water surface is minimal. It is still the ship, but traveling in the air, slightly above the surface.
Such means of transport became for our culture an everyday life phenomenon, by connecting main Russian cities with regular passenger service.

In my project “two-en” I am offering to use the principal of the “two contrast environments” for developing the individual transportation, to combine the qualities of car and ekranoplan.

It would be capable of moving along the roads, rivers and other equally smooth surfaces by air.
In highly populated cities it will be able to move on a different height levels, deconcentrating the transport currents. On a long distance runs “two-en” will help to save high amount of energy as it goes without friction above the surface using the ground effect.
As a main engine and motive power source it uses the ionic net. It is prospective. We even know that in the near future people will learn to use as an effective accumulator the gaseous hydrogen.

Colombia, a country which still has a variety of indigenous cultural heritage, preserved inside itself a culture located in the southern area of the Colombian Andes, and formed by remarkable agriculturists and extraordinary sculptors. They were famous in America for their stone work through which they created the whole process of their mythical world: be it military, civil or religious, with great emphasis on the cult of the dead and the rituals of water. The San Agustin sculpture is characterized by its extraordinary magical and aesthetical contents.

The common denominators of the art of San Agustin are, the feline mouth, monumental form, and the perspective of planes.
The Culture of San Agustín is full of strength, art, creativity and abstraction, is an inexhaustible source of new ideas, new projects, new designs, is the way how I want to contribute to global innovation, returning to life prehistoric cultures of my country through design pieces that we use daily, but giving contemporary, in this case a striking minimalist crockery that summarizes the most important details of some of the leading figures of this Amazing Colombian Culture.

Few years ago I moved from Riga city to the far countryside of Latvia. Taking a shower outside the house in summertime is an absolute ʻʼmustʼʼ – different ways of storing sun-heated rain water in DIY shower-like constructions is old and still very popular tradition.

Now – living in countryside of Spain, where thereʼs plenty of sunlight for water heating purposes, and doing a bit of researsh in Internet I wonder – why isnʼt there a simple, factory manufactured outside shower? So, born out of necessity to improve the quality of rural lifestyle and inspired by nature of Latvia (about 45% of territory is forests), hereʼs is my vision of an outdoor shower, enjoy!

Hi, I am a design student from India and for me future of transportation design lies in human and car connect. I take inspiration from meditation that originates in India.

A special kind of meditation that is Chakra meditation soothes the seven energy centres in our body and balances them. My vehicles links these seven elements of our body to the seven important elements of the car.

The interior provides the user a calm ambiance away from the busy city life only when all its seven elements are functioning properly. Otherwise, the car subtly signals the user that it requires maintenance by using colored stones that disturb the harmony of the interiors. Hence, the car and the user are bonded together.

A sustainable flexible urban mobility has ever been the problem in the major cities of Nigeria. This is owing to the fact that the country has the largest population in Africa. in addition, the neglect of rural communities and villages by the government has led to an extreme rural-urban migration which has increased the population in cities beyond the capacity of installed infrastructure, such as roads and parking spaces. Apart from the challenges posed by over population, Nigerians are faced with dilapidated roads which inflict severe damages on automobiles.

In order to adapt to extreme congestion together with poor roads, majority of Nigerians have adopted the use of motorbikes and tricycles as means of urban mobility. This is because these means of mobility occupy less space thereby allowing easy maneuvering through traffic and alleys (in absence of a road). In addition to ease in mobility, these vehicles have low fuel consumption rate that makes them equally more Economical.

Presently, the world is witnesing a rapid increase in its population, which has in turn increased the need for spaces within cities. The BMW PCX Tricycle is a bike that combines the flexibility of a bike and the comfort of car. The small width or track would allow it to be a good alternative mobility for cities with heavy traffic and poor roads.

The PCX is EV (Electric Vehicle) with four electric motors. It has a 1+1 seating arrangement, comprising of 1 driver and a single passenger. In order to minimize weight, the vehicle is made of advanced composites such as Carbon Fibre and CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics). The wheels are made of a Carbon Fibre disc to increase aerodynamic efficiency and optimum weight performance. The passenger safety cell is made of HSS (High Strength Steel) to give protection from external impact forces.
The PCX combines the luxury and safety of conventional vehicles together with the flexibility of motorcycle.
