Project  Title : Home of Beauty - Venezuela
Selected for scholarships 2009-2010, Course of Fashion Design, School of Fashion , IED Barcelona

Venezuela is my native country and as a designer I cannot avoid getting inspired by its infinite beauty.
My country is famous and recognized internationally for having beautiful women and the most successful beauty queens in pageants like Miss Universe, for that reason I decided to use Dayana Mendoza (Miss Universe and Miss Venezuela 2008) as my muse to create a mini collection of Three outfits to express My Country , My Culture , My roots = My inspiration.

The first display is My inspiration which is a Mood board I created to show my muse and the objects that inspired me to design the mini collection.

The second display is called My country which shows  a picture of The Orquidea (typical flower) , Araguaney (typical Tree) and Canaima national park showing  three natural Venezuelan beauties which served as  inspiration for the Silhouette of the dress and the similarity between ruffles and the Orquidea shape.

The third display is called My culture , where I decided to show a popular street event called La Danza de Los Diablos de Yare, where people dress like devils and dance until the sunrise of the next day. I inspired in the movement of the dancing to create the skirt of the illustration and added the detail of the stars to make it similar to the National Flag.

The last display is called My roots where you can see a picture of Simon Bolivar ( El libertador)  and an Indian face . I was inspired by Simon Bolivar’s jacket  and created an edgy , ruffled jacket  , with a cross hanging to show  our Freedom values , Indian and catholic roots.
