Selected for scholarships 2009-2010, Course of Jewellery Design, School of Fashion, IED Milan
“Güepa Je”, is a set of jewelry pieces that evoke the culture of my country.
The concepts to surround and to embrace evoke the kindness and amiability of the Colombian people, and in its forms to the “vueltiao” hat, being this world-wide Colombian icon.
The colors white, black and silver give to the pieces sobriety and elegance, being colors that generate contrast like which are found on the hats and the traditional basketwork.
This set was made fusing the colors by means of the glass tempering and making the assembly on a stainless steel structure.
The name “Güepa Je” was born of a joy expression that shouts in the celebrations when traditional rhythms like the “Cumbia” are listened and danced.
This set is recognition to the value that has for me the Colombian culture.

Traditionally Jewry has been more than a luxury accessory.I have been magic instruments as well as rank identifiers. I think these initiatives that mix a beautiful artifacts and a concept, and in this case a traditional and national concept brings a new spectrum of possibilities.

Is one of the most talent designer I ever known, this kind of line make people feel a part of Colombia in a different way, that could be ever imagine, it is kind of tipical art, but with lots of new shapes an a very elegant style.
The name also shows a lot of commitment with the culture, keeping in mind that the designer and her designs are a perfect way to let others now a country.
