Project Title: PAKISTAN: THE LAND OF POSSIBILITY
Selected for scholarships 2009-2010, Course of Interior Design, School of Design, IED Rome

Pakistan is at the brink of revolution. Political economic social instability has increased uncertainty between the general public.  But hope has as much of impact in our country.

But Pakistan is not about all that. Our Youth signifies hope for our future.  The life that awaits us is much more and our struggle will pay off.

My design has been inspired by the Old elements and how the new materials develop in those traditions. The dome is a significant design element in our country’s historic architecture. The tile work is high on colors as celebratratry .The tile work is often done in blues and whites.

In a way the dome signifies stability as its structure in completely self supporting in itself. The design of a geodesic dome is such that the absence of a single will make its structure useless. The use of glass denotes the desire and dream of breaking free but ironically its acts as a barrier. I have used the colors of our flag green and white which mean Peace and the Crescent and Star donates Prosperity.

Through this competition I also want to send the message that the people of Pakistan  have always wanted  Peace and Prosperity and love for all .
