“This is not a fashion project.” – This is what would Rene Magritte say if he was the author of my project. And I say “this is not a language project” even if the title suggests that topic. What I am using for this project as inspiration is topic that Rene Magritte, as surrealist painter, was often imposing and that is a question about object’s name.

Do our names represent us in real way? Do they belong to us? What\’s the connection between object and its name? Does the name come from object or object from its name? An object is not so attached to its name that we cannot find another one that would suit it better.
This is why Rene\’s paintings often had tittles that, on the first hand, weren\’t connected to objects on the paintings.

I used this interesting theme (recycled it) to create a base for my project which represents contemporary clothing construction mixed with prints of some scenes from Rene\’s paintings. The sky, moon, flying bird and open windows leading to ouside world, are simbols of freedom and open mind that 21st century expects from us. Designing for that kind of world is a privilege. And we enjoy the privileges of a free-minded people.
